From Struggles to Strength
LaCole always knew she wanted to own a dine-in restaurant, but for a long time, she didn't know how to make it happen. While pregnant with her youngest son, she had a simple yet powerful thought: Why doesn’t anyone deliver breakfast? This idea led to the creation of Breakfast in Bed by LaCole, a delivery and catering business that steadily gained popularity.
Years later, when an opportunity arose to take over a corner space in Highland Square, she took a leap of faith. It took about a year of financial planning, permit approvals, and sheer determination before she could officially open her restaurant on April 25, 2023.

Nestled in a historic building that once housed an Acme grocery store, Breakfast in Bed by LaCole brings a fresh, home-cooked feel to the Akron community. From mouthwatering shrimp and grits to her famous French toast biscuits, LaCole’s menu is filled with soulful, comforting dishes.
Her restaurant operates as a one-woman powerhouse, with LaCole cooking everything from scratch while her youngest son, Sabieontae, helps out proudly as her little sous chef.

LaCole isn’t just serving food—she’s serving hope. Through her nonprofit, No Worries, It’s on God, she provides meals to grieving families, ensuring they feel supported even after the initial wave of condolences has passed. Her generosity and heart for people shine through in everything she does.
